COMMON QUESTIONS

Who is eligible for PrideLaw services?

Any person in Western New York who self-identifies as LGBTQI+ is eligible for PrideLaw services. There are no eligibility requirements regarding age or income.

What can PrideLaw do to help me protect my family?

PrideLaw can put legal protections in place to help insulate the LGBTQI+ families currently navigating an ever-changing legal landscape through services like advanced planning, second parent adoption, and wills.

How much would it cost to change my legal name and gender marker?

Legal services provided by PrideLaw are always free. Some cases may involve outside fees, such as court filing fees, that PrideLaw cannot cover. However, PrideLaw can help low-income clients apply to have certain outside fees waived.
