BRANDY HERNANDEZ

Intake Manager

Brandy is an experienced Paralegal at the Center for Elder Law & Justice since 2014. She is skilled in client appeals and grievances involving Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Prescription Drug Plans and Private Insurance companies. Substituted discussion making, executing the power of attorney's and health care proxies. Since January 1, 2019, she assists with all general consumer issues, including debt collection, scam prevention, contractor disputes and student loans debt. She also assists with Utility shut off notices and helping negotiate payment plans. As of January 1, 2023, Brandy will transition to Intake Manager role. She will manage and oversee CELJ intake policy and revamp our intake system. She will oversee the receptionist and intake specialist to ensure front office runs smoothly.

Brandy is fluent in Spanish and provides translation services for other units in the office. Brandy grew up in the Bronx and graduated from Bryant and Stratton College with a Business degree in 2012. Brandy is a member of the National Technical Honor Society; she was awarded Outstanding Graduate of 2012. Brandy is a mother of two amazing boys and is a cat lady. Her favorite holiday is Halloween! She enjoys watching scaring, thriller, and horror movies all year around.
