WHAT STORES ARE OFFERING SPECIAL HOURS FOR SENIORS OR DELIVERY SERVICES?

The following stores are offering special hours for seniors and members of vulnerable populations (pregnant women, individuals with underlying health conditions, individuals with compromised immune systems):

  • Aldi’s: Seniors, pregnant women, and those with compromised immune systems may shop before the general public 8:30-9:30 am every Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Big Lots: Each first opened hour is designated for seniors and those most vulnerable to the virus. Big lots opens at 9:00 am on weekdays and 8:00 am on weekends.
  • BJ’s Wholesale Club: Senior hour is 8:00- 9:00 am daily for customers aged 60 and older.
  • Dash’s: Seniors and pregnant women may shop Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 6:00-7:00 a.m.
  • Dollar General: Customers aged 60 and older may shop one hour before opening to the public. Seniorhour is 8:00-9:00 am every day. Dollar General is also offering a 10% discount on qualifying purchases to medical personnel, activated National Guardsmen, and first responders. An employment badge or ID is needed to obtain the discount.
  • Rite Aid: Seniors and customers with compromised immune systems may shop early 9:00-10:00 am every weekday.
    • Rite Aid offers RX drive-thru and delivery services. Rite Aid has waived services fees for eligible prescriptions, offering free prescription delivery. Stores are delivering 2-3 times a week (call your local Rite Aid to confirm days of the week). Customers can call a day in advance for next day delivery. Medications needs to be signed for and will not be lift at the doorstep. Controlled substances and/or refrigerated medications are not eligible for delivery.
  • Sam’s Club: Special hours are offered for seniors, those with disabilities, and those with compromised immune systems every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00-9:00 am.
  • Target: First opened hour each Wednesday morning is dedicated to seniors and those vulnerable to the virus due to underlying health conditions. Most Targets open at 8:00 am.
  • Trader Joe’s: Senior hour is every day 9:00-10:00 am.
  • Walgreens: Senior hour is on Tuesdays at 8:00-9:00 am. Caregivers and immediate families of seniors may also shop at this hour.
    • Walgreens offers RX drive-thru and delivery services. Customers should speak with their pharmacist for information on the best delivery option for their medications. (Express, Standard, Expedited*fee* & Overnight*fee*) Walgreens & Postmates have teamed up to provide delivery for in-store items including OTC medicines. Controlled substances and/or refrigerated medications are not eligible for delivery.
  • Walmart: Seniors aged 60 and older may shop 6:00-7:00 am. The pharmacy and vision center will be opened during this special hour. Senior hour is currently scheduled March 24-April 28, 2020.
    • Walmart offers RX drive-thru and delivery services. Walmart pharmacies are operating altered hours. Local stores are contacting their regular customers is they need any medications delivered as a last option or for those who cannot make it in the store or drive thru. Anyone else seeking delivery services are referred to call 1-800-2-REFILL (1-800-273-3455). There may be applicable fees for this delivery service as it is a third-party vendor.
  • Whole Foods: Customers aged 60 and older may shop one hour before opening to the public. Seniorhour is 8:00-9:00 am every day.

 

The following pharmacies are offering drive through, delivery, and other special services to help people obtain their medications:

  • CVS offers RX drive-thru at some locations and delivery services (not available for Target locations). Call your local pharmacy for additional details or to check your prescription's delivery eligibility. Controlled substances and/or refrigerated medications are not eligible for delivery. See below for delivery times:
    • If you select 1 to 2 day and place your order:
      • By 3 PM Monday through Thursday: delivery within 1 to 2 days
      • By 3 PM Friday: delivery by Monday
      • By 2 PM Saturday: delivery by Tuesday
      • After 2 PM Saturday through Sunday: delivery by Wednesday. No deliveries on Sunday or courier holidays.
    • If you select on-demand delivery within hours, you'll receive your delivery within 4 hours. Orders must be submitted 4 hours prior to store closing to receive delivery the same day as order placement. You are required to be present for delivery or your medication will be returned to the pharmacy.
  • Buffalo Pharmacies will deliver your medications and medical equipment to your home or office for FREE. They offer free delivery Monday through Saturday from both retail locations. They will need to know your availability when to drop off the medication.

  • Ivylea Pharmacy offers free delivery to the nearby Kenmore area.
  • Union Medical Pharmacy is offering curbside pick-up. Park in front of the pharmacy and call us (716) 675-4133
  • Riverview Pharmacy offers free delivery. Depending on location, they offer 2 options: Drivers who can deliver same day (Rochester, Jamestown, Batavia, Warsaw, Orleans, East Concord etc.) or UPS delivery within the next 2 days. Require signature or verbal agreement for medication drop off.
  • Brooks Pharmacy is offering free delivery and curbside service for most customers in the Hamburg area. Call (716) 627-3060
  • Springville Pharmacy offers free delivery and curbside pickup for customers in a just out of the village of Springville. For curbside pick-up, pull in the municipal lot in the back up to the back door. Call (716) 592-2026

  • Holland Pharmacy is offering curbside pickup & delivery services. Same day drivers are available for the East Aurora & Holland with a $5.00 delivery fee.
