Sarah J. Duval to Receive Outstanding Lawyer Award


The Western New York Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY) has selected Sarah J. Duval, Esq. of Legal Services for the Elderly Disabled, Disabled or Disadvantaged of Western New York, Inc. (LSED) to receive the Carol A. Condon Outstanding New Lawyer Award.  It will be presented at the WBASNY’s Annual Installation of Officers and Directors Reception and Awards Ceremony at the Saturn Club on Thursday, July 30, 2015.

Sarah Duval is a staff attorney at LSED.  She handles cases dealing with elder exploitation and is a frequent presenter on the topic of elder abuse prevention.

Sarah is a member of the Erie County Council on Elder Abuse, the SPRING Alliance for Elder Shelters, the Erie County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association Elder Law Section and the Elder Abuse subcommittee.  She is a volunteer tutor with Lawyers for Learning.  Sarah has been published in the New York State Elder Law and Special Needs Journal.

Sarah graduated cum laude from SUNY Buffalo Law School in 2012 where she was selected to Order of the Barristers and received the ABA/BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Health Law.  In 2007 Sarah graduated summa cum laude from SUNY Buffalo with a bachelor’s in history and political science.
