IS PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION STILL AVAILABLE?

Yes, public transportation is still available across WNY, though operations are different.  For areas served by the NFTA (Erie County and Niagara Counties), bus and rail fares have been suspended.  This means you will not have to pay to ride busses or the Metro Rail.  Riders are asked to board busses from the rear door to increase social distancing.  Front door boarding is reserved for individuals who are physically disabled and cannot board via the rear door.

RTS (serving Monroe, Genesee, Orleans, Wyoming, Livingston, Wayne, Ontario, and Seneca Counties) has also suspended fare requirements, and is asking physically able riders to enter using the rear bus doors.  RTS is operating by “Dial-a-Ride” service only in Genesee and Wyoming counties.  Customers in Genesee County can schedule a ride 24 hours in advance by calling (585) 343-3079.  Customers in Wyoming County can schedule a ride 24 hours in advance by calling (585) 786-6050.
