Call to action: use your voice to improve long-term care!

There have been longstanding issues with transparency and communication on the guidance issued to nursing home and adult care facility providers by New York State and the New York State Department of Health. To assist the community, we have compiled a complete guide that includes federal and state directives and guidance, and Executive Orders issued by New York State Governor Cuomo. Access the guide here.

The quality of care and resident rights issues that have been brought to the public eye during the COVID-19 emergency existed prior to the pandemic. We all deserve to have access to quality long-term care regardless of the setting (nursing home, adult care facility, community), location, and our age, race, and socio-economic status.

If you are a resident or have a loved one in a nursing home or adult care facility and want to help bring positive lasting changes in long-term care, or have concerns with the directives that were issued, we urge you to e-mail, call, or write New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, your State Senator, and Assemblymember to share your story, propose solutions, and demand change.
